    "Universe: fourteen candidate heavyweights chosen by price and population prominence, computed August 6, 2026 from live PSA registry populations and real eBay sold medians per grade (minimum two sales per grade; inverted ladders excluded). Graded cap sums population times median across priced grades; coverage of priced grades runs 94 to 100 percent of each card's population except where noted. The second row comes from our stored population and price snapshots for TCGplayer product 257103, which our registry tape names Pikachu 227/S-P from the Sword & Shield Japanese promo line and which has no row in our card catalog: 24,983 slabs with 21,346 tens on August 6, 2026, against a $3,684.49 PSA 10 median. CORRECTED 2026-09-22: an earlier version of this table attached those figures to the Van Gogh Museum's Pikachu with Grey Felt Hat and linked them to /card/svp-085. That is a different product, 518861, and our own population tape reads it at 115,637 slabs with 49,647 tens on the same date, a line whose 10s and 9s alone come to more than $190M. Grey Felt Hat was never one of the fourteen measured here, so every superlative in this piece is a superlative over those fourteen and not over the hobby. Caps understate true totals where high grades trade too rarely to print a median, most visibly Base Set Charizard, whose PSA 10 value is real but unmeasurable at our sample floor. CGC and BGS slabs are excluded; these are PSA-only figures."
