"Retail baselines: WotC-era packs at $3.24 MSRP, which is $116 for a 36-pack box; $130 street for 2013 product; six-box cases at contemporary street pricing ($540 in 2016, $864 in 2021). Each CAGR divides a listing by the retail of the SAME unit: the shadowless 1st Edition Base Set line we track is a single booster pack, not a box, so it is compounded from $3.24 and labelled as a pack throughout. Every other line here is a box or a case, compounded from a box or case cost. Current values are moonstone sealed market listings as of the publication date, listing prices, not confirmed sales, and sealed markets are thin; treat the modern CAGRs as indicative of trajectory, not executable returns at size. S&P 500 comparison uses total-return CAGR ≈8% for 1999–2026 on an equal starting stake, drawn on the chart from the $116 box cost.",
"Graded figures are median recorded sale prices with stated sample sizes from moonstone graded market data pulled on July 25, 2026 (July 2026); entries with grade-inverted medians on samples under eight sales were excluded as data-quality artifacts rather than smoothed. Those medians came from a live provider read, not from our daily graded snapshot tape, which did not yet cover these cards on that date, so the figures below are a dated capture that cannot be re-derived from our own history. Card and sealed links resolve to live moonstone pages whose prices update continuously and may differ from the figures captured here. Nothing in this article is financial advice; collectibles are illiquid, volatile, and can lose value."
