Some modern sets are two sets wearing one name: a main checklist nobody prices, and a small annex that holds nearly all the money. We measured all eight subset and parent pairs in the catalog. In Crown Zenith the Galarian Gallery is 30.4% of the cards and 90.18% of the value, and its median card is $13.16 against $0.20 in the main set.

Two formats, opposite behaviour
The table sorts into two groups and they are not the same product. In the four Trainer Gallery sets the single most valuable card is always in the MAIN set. Giratina V at $822.95 beats Lost Origin's best gallery card Pikachu V at $125.92. Lugia V at $524.94 beats Rayquaza VMAX at $202.18. Charizard V at $297.13 beats Umbreon VMAX at $111.43.
In the Vault and Gallery led sets it reverses completely. Charizard GX in the Hidden Fates Shiny Vault is $761.96 against Hidden Fates' best main set card Jessie and James at $73.36. Giratina VSTAR at $314.90 against Crown Zenith's Pikachu at $49.36.
Population: English priced cards grouped by the set name the catalog records, covering the eight subset and parent pairs present. Prices resolve through the shared canonical printing rule as of September 3, 2026. Subsets are separate set rows in the catalog, so parent totals exclude their subset by construction and nothing is double counted. Totals are a one day cross section, not returns, and no time series claim is made. Median is the median priced card in that set row. No regression is run.
