The pilot for card shops

Price a collection at the counter while the seller waits.

The pilot is for shops that buy cards over the counter. You use moonstone's intake desk on real buys, and you tell us directly what it gets right and what it gets wrong. Everything below is what the desk does today.

What your shop gets

  • Binder pages, one photo each

Photograph a nine-pocket binder page and every pocket comes back as a card, identified to the exact set and printing. Holo, reverse holo, 1st Edition and shadowless are priced apart, and where two printings share the same art the desk asks you rather than guessing.

A Pro feature: 50 pages a day with Pro, not included on a free account.

  • Single cards, free

Loose singles go through the Single card desk with the same scanner. Each card lands in a tray with its market price and your offer beside it.

Free. A signed-in free account has a fair-use ceiling of 600 scans a day, which Pro removes.

  • Your margin, your floor, one offer sheet

Set a buy margin and a floor once and they are remembered. Offers round down, never up. Cards under the floor are counted and left off, and a match the scanner is not sure of is flagged for a look instead of priced. Export a spreadsheet with market and offer side by side, a totals row and TCGplayer ids for your inventory system, or print the sheet and hand it across the counter.

Up to 25 lines per sheet export free. Bigger sheets need Pro or a Scan API plan.

  • Prices you can show the seller

Offers are worked from the recorded TCGplayer market price, updated daily. A card with no market price gets no offer; nothing is invented for it.

What you may do with the prices is set out in the API terms.

Already have a POS or your own tools?

The same recognition engine is one REST call. POST /api/v1/binder takes a photo of a binder page and returns one pocket per card with ranked candidates, a confidence and a price, and bills one unit a page. Details are in the Scan API docs.

  • Sandbox free, 25 scans a month
  • Developer $9 a month, 500 scans a month
  • Growth $39 a month, 5,000 scans a month
  • Scale $249 a month, 50,000 scans a month

Monthly plans with no overage charges: when the quota is spent, further calls are refused rather than billed.

How to start

  1. Open shop intake on the phone you keep at the counter, or on a desktop with page photos ready to drop in.
  2. Scan a few singles from your own stock. They are free, and the tray that opens shows the margin and floor controls and your offer on every card.
  3. For binder pages, start Pro; the first 3 days are free and you can cancel before they end without being charged.
  4. Tell us how it went: what it misread, what the sheet is missing, what would make it part of your buying.
