It is a basket. We ask our provider for Arboliva cards, keep the dearest 7 of them, and add up their market prices in US dollars. A card counts for this species only if its name starts with it, so an Eevee and Snorlax card sits in Eevee's basket and not in Snorlax's, and a card carrying no market price is not eligible at all. It is not what every Arboliva card is worth, and it is not a figure anybody can transact on. It moves when the basket changes as well as when prices do, so a new card entering the dearest twelve will move it on a day when nothing was bought or sold.

The date above is the day this species was last written, not today. Species are refreshed least recently checked first, inside a budget that reaches about twenty of them a run, so a species at the back of the cycle carries figures that are weeks old. We print the day rather than implying the figure is current.

One search per species against our paid provider returns that species' cards with sixty days of history. The index is the sum of the market prices of the dearest twelve, in US dollars, with no currency conversion. The thirty day change is value weighted over the same constituents. A species whose search returns no priced card is recorded as having no index, not an index of zero, and has no page here at all. The figures on this page are also published as JSON, and every species we hold an index for is listed on the species index directory.
