M Charizard EX 101/108 Evolutions: Price and Pop

M Charizard EX 101/108 from Evolutions asks $127.02 and its PSA 10 sells for a median $617.50 across 356 verified sales, both read September 23 2026. It is the most expensive of the 113 English products we price in that set, and its PSA registry line holds 34,109 submissions, the 72nd deepest of the 5,879 products in our graded-ladder cohort. The trap is the number. A second card called M Charizard EX sits in the same set at 13/108, asks $41.58, and has a sold tape of its own; thirteen products in our catalog share the name. Every figure in this article is about 101/108 and says so.

Evolutions printed two M Charizard EX cards. 13/108 is the ordinary ultra rare and 101/108 is the full art, which is the card our graded tape labels M Charizard EX (Full Art) in the XY - Evolutions set. They are not interchangeable at any grade. Thirteen products across both languages carry the name; the ten of them carrying an ask on the day run from $41.58 to $1,501.23 raw.

Three further Japanese rows carry the name and no price on the day and are left out of the table rather than shown as blanks: XY2: Wild Blaze 088/080 and 089/080, and CP6 013/087. They are named so the residual is visible. Japanese sets have no page of any kind on this site, so those set names are unlinked prose while the cards link normally. No CGC 9.5 sale is on our tape for this card, so that rung is absent rather than zero and the card is not one of the 143 cohort members carrying all seven grades. The PSA 10 fetches 4.53 times the PSA 9 and 2.07 times the CGC 10; the cohort's 143 full-ladder members run a median 2.50x on that second ratio. The PSA 9 at $136.31 sits 7.3% above the raw ask, so the downside grade barely moves the price, and on a card that gems 39.3% of the time that downside is the likelier outcome.

Against the wider catalog the registry is the 79th deepest of the 20,805 products with an unshared reading, and the comp count is the 193rd deepest of the 8,693 with a PSA 10 median. Recomputing the ranking in every Charizard's PSA 10 premium, ranked on our own day and rule gives 83 English Charizard printings, and 101/108 is 69th of them by premium while 13/108 is 70th. Two cards from one set sitting side by side near the bottom of a species ranking is not a coincidence: they carry 34,109 and 24,694 recorded submissions and 356 and 381 verified PSA 10 sales between them, and that depth is what compresses a multiple.

Evolutions is the XY-era set of that name, not the Scarlet & Violet set called Prismatic Evolutions. We price 113 English products in it and they sum to $798.71 on the day-20719 ask tape; the set page prints $887, which comes from the separate `sethist2` set index rather than from a same-day sum of the card tape, and the two instruments are not expected to agree. 33 of the 113 carry a PSA 10 sold median on two or more verified sales. M Charizard EX 101/108 is the most expensive card in the set, and the registry tells a second story about it.

The second row is the interesting one. The set's Charizard reprint at 11/108 carries 53,714 recorded submissions, more than any other card in Evolutions, and gems 1.1% of the time. It has no PSA 10 sold median on our tape at all, which is what happens at that rate: the 9 becomes the product, the result measured across 5,325 heavily submitted cards in fifteen tens from 12,323 tries. The full art at 101/108 gems 39.3% of the time and has 356 recorded PSA 10 sales. Same set, same species, two completely different grading products.

Both `/set/evolutions` and `/set/xy - evolutions` resolved to this XY-era set when probed on September 23 2026, and both titled it Evolutions at $887. This article links the second spelling only, because the first is ambiguous by name against Prismatic Evolutions, and a link that reads correctly today but names two things is a link waiting to break.

We hold three registry readings for this card, from September 7 to September 21 2026, a span of 14 recorded days. The line went from 33,895 submissions to 34,109, a gain of 214 slabs, about 15.29 a day and 0.63% of the standing population, of which 32 came back tens, a marginal rate of 15.0% against a lifetime 39.3%. Our recorded PSA 10 median fell from $683.00 on 345 verified sales on September 8 to $617.50 on 356 sales on September 23, a fall of 9.59%, while the ask rose 1.33% from $125.35 to $127.02. The weekly per-card series runs 139 readings from January 27 2025 to September 22 2026, from $76.83 to $126.93, a rise of 65.2%, with its high of $164.42 on October 20 2025; the card is 22.8% below that high.

The shared-line detector flagged 883 of 24,385 population keys and did not flag this one, which matters more than usual here because a second card of the same name sits in the same set with its own 24,694-slab line. The grade-by-grade pooling ratio, recorded sales per graded copy against a declared bar of 1.0, passes: 356 verified PSA 10 sales against 13,418 recorded tens is 0.03, and 288 verified PSA 9 sales against 13,181 recorded nines is 0.02. Both absolutes are printed, and both of this series' standing tests cleared everything they could be run on: no median older than the daily tape, across all 258 graded rows the linked products carry, and no pooling ratio above 1.0, across the 114 surviving rows that sit at PSA 10 or PSA 9, the only two grades our registry records a count for.

The raw price is an ASK and every graded price is a SOLD median, so 4.86x divides a listing by a transaction and contains no fee, postage or wait. The graded tape is eleven readings deep for this card, first written September 8 2026, so no figure here describes a year of slab prices; the weekly series that does reach back to January 2025 is an ask series and is labelled as one. The BGS rungs rest on four and five sales and are printed with those counts rather than left out, because absent is not zero, but they are not market prices.

The claim is that 101/108 combines a registry in the deepest 1.5% of the cohort and a sold tape in its deepest 3% with a bottom-quarter premium. A recompute of the 5,879-product cohort returning a premium percentile above 50 for this card would overturn it. A finding that the 34,109-slab line is shared with 13/108 would invalidate every registry figure here, and the two lines reading 34,109 and 24,694 with gem rates of 39.3% and 41.2% is the evidence that it is not.
